Davis Adult & Community Education (DACE)

Returning to school, especially after time away, can feel overwhelming, but you’re not alone. Whether you faced academic challenges or life circumstances interrupted your path, we believe it's never too late to reach your goals, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
💡 Program Overview
Our High School Diploma (HSD) program is tuition-free and funded by the California Adult Education Programs (CAEP). DACE’s program is designed for adult learners who are ready to earn their diploma and open new doors to jobs, college, or personal growth.
To graduate, students must earn the following credits:
- English – 30
- Math – 10
- Algebra – 10
- Economics – 5
- Government – 5
- Life Science – 10
- Physical Science – 10
- U.S. History – 10
- World History – 10
- Fine Arts/World Language/CTE – 10
- Electives – 50
- Physical Education – 20 (if under age 20)
Total: 160 credits (or 180 credits for students under 20)
🎉 We celebrate our graduates at a formal ceremony each June.
⚠️ GED & HiSET Testing
Please note: We do not offer GED or HiSET test prep or testing. However, Woodland Adult Education is an official test center and provides prep and testing in both English and Spanish.
📝 How to Get Started- Fall Enrollment opens August 11th
Orientation is required before enrolling and takes place once a month on Wednesday evenings from 5:00–7:30 PM, September through April.
You must be 18 years or older to enroll.
Enrollment Steps
Step 1: Register Online
Step 2: Submit your previous transcripts to the program coordinator
Step 3: Attend Orientation & complete the CASAS pre-test
Step 4: Receive your Individual Learning Plan
Step 5: Start attending class!
