We are proud to have over 60 years of experience in providing high quality educational options for adults in the Davis community and beyond.
We are excited to continue offering useful and informative classes for the community and our teachers are looking forward to sharing their skills and passions. Check out the Community Interest page under Programs for more information on the classes being offered this year.
Our community education program depends on the talents and skills of our community members. If you have a talent or skill and a desire to share with others, please submit a course proposal through our website or contact us through email.
While the last few years have presented us with many challenges, they have also provided opportunities for us, as educators, to think differently about how we can continue to serve the needs of our community. In many ways, these challenges have accelerated our transition into true 21st century teaching and learning and provided both our students and staff with greater flexibility to learn when, where, and however works best for them.
Our pride and joy continues to be our Adult High School Diploma program where we believe that no one is too old and it's never too late to earn a high school diploma. High School Diploma candidacy begins with orientation and advising, where all of your questions will be answered. We continue to offer English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at all levels. As in the past, it will be important to enroll early and participate in classes regularly. All students wishing to enroll in ESL must register for orientation and take a placement test.
We also strive to be a hub for employment development and offer several classes and programs for people looking for a new career or to advance in their current career. We currently offer a certificate program in Nursing Assistant. We also offer an innovative “job readiness” program using the New World of Work curriculum designed in collaboration with industry and the community colleges.
Parent Education opportunities abound when parents enroll in one of several sessions offered by Davis Parent Nursery School. There is more information, including contact phone numbers, under Davis Parent Nursery School on our website.
If you are a Davis resident, you can expect to receive our paper catalog by mail several times a year. We still hope to move away from the paper catalog eventually, but for now, have found it to be the most effective way of reaching the community. Please check the website and our registration page for more information and updates about class offerings throughout the year. Students may still register online or in the office.
